After reaching the house, he saw a pot full of water. He became very happy. But, now the problem was that the water level in the pot was very low and the crow was unable to drink water from the pot.

FAQs on Thirsty Crow Story in English with Pictures

1. Why was the crow thirsty and where did he find the water?

The crow was travelling for a long time so he was very thirsty. He looked around for water to drink, but was unable to find any water source. He started searching for water  all around the jungle and in the nearby town. After travelling around the town, the crow saw a house and thought there must be water in the house. After reaching the house, he saw a pot full of water.

2. Why was the crow unable to drink the water?

The crow was unable to drink the water because the water level in the pot was very low. The crow could not reach the button of the pot as his beak was quite low in comparison to the level of the water in the pot. Hence, he had to think of a plan to drink the water from the pot.

3. What idea did the crow think of to drink the water and how did he execute his plan?

The crow came up with an idea that if keeps on adding pebbles to the pot, the water level would slowly rise up and he would be able to drink the water easily. Therefore, the crow began looking for the pebbles and he was happy to notice several pebbles on the ground. He took one of the pebbles in his beak  and went back to the pot. He dropped a stone in it, which caused the water level to slightly rise, but his beak was still unable to hold enough water to drink.

The crow repeated the process several times but was unsuccessful everytime. He then picked up a big rock and dropped it into the pot. He then made an attempt to drink some water but was unsuccessful again. He now felt more tired and thirsty, but he continued to repeat the process. After an hour of hardwork and repeating the same method, the level of water finally increased and was raised all the way to the pot's top. Finally, the crow was able to drink the water.
