The International Commerce Olympiad (ICO) is a single level examination conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) in partnership with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India. The examination of ICO was introduced by SOF in the year of 2016. ICO is only for the students of higher classes, i.e., for classes 11 and 12. Students from all the streams are eligible to take part in the International Commerce Olympiad (ICO). ICO makes the process of learning interesting and interactive for students who can showcase their skills, talents, memory, and knowledge. Every student who participates in the ICO examinations receives a Student Performance Report (SPR) that analyzes their performance in the exam. Every year ICO spends a huge amount of money on awards, gifts, and scholarships for the students who pass the exams with flying colors. DUE TO THE CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC LEADING TO HEALTH CONCERNS AND UNCERTAIN SCHEDULE OF SCHOOLS, THE SOF ICO WILL NOT BE CONDUCTED DURING 2020-21.
The International Commerce Olympiad examination charges Rs 125 (Including GST) as the registration fee from the schools in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan & Nepal.Â
The schools may also charge an additional Rs 25 per student.
Any student suffering from a major physical disability or an Indian student whose parent was martyred during defense operations are freed from paying any kind of fee.
The registration for ICO Exam is done online. To register for ICO examination, students have to follow these simple steps.
Students will have to register online on the official website of the science olympiad foundation (SOF).
A confirmation message will be sent to the registered mobile number once the registration is done.
Students will have to fill up the necessary school details by their registered email id and password.
The next step will be to fill up the details about your Accountancy and Business studies school teacher for the certificates, the maximum limit is 7 results.
Necessary details like name, class, and mobile number needs to be filled up
The student will then have to make the payment online and take the printout of the receipt and other forms for future reference.
The printouts of the copies duly attested by the Principal along with the payment receipt.
The exam pattern for the students appearing for ICO is given below so the students can prepare for the exam accordingly. Â
The question type will be objective i.e., multiple-choice questions.
Students will get 1 hour to complete the exam.
The mode of examination will be in English.Â
There will be two different sets of question papers for each class.
The examination paper will be set according to the syllabus of CBSE, ICSE/ISC, and the State Board.
The examination will be conducted during school hours.Â
There will be four sections of the question paper.
Different Sections :
Section 1 consists of Economics
Section 2 consists of Business Studies
Section 3 consists of Accountancy
Section 4 consists of the Achievers Section
ICO exam results 2020 will be published online and the students have to check the official website of SOF ICO. Students need to enter their roll number to access their ICO exam results 2020.
The format will be School code – Class – Section – Roll number.
Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) is primarily an educational organization that promotes academic competition and helps in instilling a competitive spirit in school children. Question 2) Can a Student Sit for all the Olympiad Examinations Conducted by SOF?
Answer 2) All the olympiad examinations are conducted by the same foundation i.e., the science olympiad foundation and are completely different from each other. Also it is a knowledge based examination and not a board based examination so everyone can sit for all the examinations conducted by the SOF.
Question 3) What are the Awards for Olympiad Exams?
Answer 3) Anyone whose performance is excellent is awarded at the end of both the exams i.e., level 1 and level 2.Â
For NSO, the award is INR 50,000, a gold medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.Â
For NCO, the award is INR 50,000, a gold medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.Â
For IMO, the award is INR 50,000, a gold medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.
For IEO, the award is INR 50,000, a gold medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.Â
For ICSO, the award is INR 1,00,000, a gold medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.   Â
For, IGKO, the award is INR 50,000, a gold medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.Â
Question 4) What are the Tips to Prepare for the ICO Examinations?
Answer 4) Every student prepares for their examination in their own way but preparing wisely will save you a lot of time and effort. So here are a few tips you can follow:
Practice as much as possible: It is a key to score good marks. Your 70% of the effort should be spent in practising. You can use a question bank.Â
All India Level Mock Test: Once you are confident enough with your preparation, take a mock test to improve your efficiency at attempting questions.
Clear your doubts. Never ignore a question that you cannot understand, instead do a group study or discuss it with someone you think can help you.Â
Look for the best sources.Â
Revision. It is a must. We may think that what we’ve learnt will be in our head without revising. Then we are wrong. We should always revise.
