Get Information on the NEET UG Counselling Process of Mizoram

NEET is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test conducted annually by National Testing Agency (NTA). This particular examination is a pre-medical entrance test for all the students wishing to study further MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, etc. Mizoram NEET UG Counselling is done by the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Mizoram.


NEET UG Counselling is done through the government authorities based on the yearly scorecard. 85% of the seats on the state quota will be given to the candidates in medical and dental courses online after the authority publishes a merit list for every category of students.

Eligibility Criteria of Mizoram NEET UG Counselling

  • Candidate should be of more than 17 years of age.

  • Candidates born on or after 02-01-2004 are not eligible for the MBBS or BDS Courses.


About Online NEET UG Counselling 

Once the results of NEET are declared, the counselling procedure starts. To appear for counselling, you have to register first, along with the registration fees.

Process of NEET Registration 

With all the details needed to fill up the registration form, you will get the user ID and password for further logins from the website of NEET. After the registration, you should print out the application form, as it will be required later.


Choice Filling Step

This is a very important step as everything will remain the same once you choose your preferred colleges in this step.


After the registration, you have to fill up the college choices as per your requirement.


After filling up the choices, lock it all up, as without locking up, your candidature of applying to preferred colleges can go away.


Document Verification 

This is a compulsory and important step of the Mizoram MBBS counselling procedure. Further counselling procedures will get cancelled if one of the required documents is missing or not as per the application form.

Seat Allotment as per Ranking in NEET UG

The total seats allotted to the MBBS students in Mizoram is 100. The seat allotment is done based on the merit list of NEET.


Once the seats are allotted, applicants need to go to their colleges with all the original documents for further verification within the given time on a particular date.


Reservation Criteria

This only applies to candidates who come under a reserved category like SC, ST, OBC or Economically Weaker Section. State medical authority provides the seats under quota beforehand in every Government or Private Medical College.


To claim the seat under your category, you must show a relevant valid document as proof.


Counselling Fee Structure

The fee structure is different category-wise as per AIQ. Unreserved category students will have to pay 1000 INR, whereas reserved category students will have to pay 500 INR.


Two Rounds of Counselling (All India Quota)

  • Candidate Registration on the official website.

  • Choice Filling and Locking of Round 1 as per your preference. (No further changes will be made)

  • Result of Seat Allotment (Round 1)

  • Report to the allotted college with the required documents for further processing on the admission process. If you fail to reach within the given time, the seat will be given to someone else.

  • New Registration Process of Round 2 for those candidates who couldn’t believe in the first counselling.

  • Same as before, choice filling and locking the proffered colleges option.

  • Round 2 result of Seat allotment.

  • Reporting to college for further verification.

Once all the other procedures of NEET UG Counselling are done, you will be given the seat allotment in your preferred college for further proceedings on admission. If you can’t reach within the time with the proper documents, the whole admission process will get cancelled.

2. How many rounds are there in Mizoram NEET UG Counselling?

There are three rounds, Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-Up Round in Mizoram State Counselling. These rounds are always dependent upon the availability of seats.

3. What is a Mop-up round in Mizoram state NEET UG Counselling?

A final round of counselling is a mop-up round only if there is any seat available after two rounds of Counselling.

4. How can I apply to study MBBS in Mizoram?
