Assam MBBS Admission 2020: A Brief Overview
The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) for the state of Assam will organise the Assam MBBS admission 2020 for medical colleges in this state. Applicants will be shortlisted and granted admission based on NEET 2020 scores. The DME merit list is scheduled to be released in the second week of June, though this is bound to change due to coronavirus and its lockdown. Students, who will qualify here can appear for MBBS and BDS counselling afterwards.
Assam MBBS 2020 application form will be available in the same week as NEET merit list publication. Qualified candidates can register and fill their application form with the required details and then participate in their counselling process before final admission.

Assam MBBS Admission 2020 Merit List
The DME will release the merit list for admission to Assam MBBS 2020 based on the NEET marks. This list will comprise of the name, NEET score, percentage, and rank. Moreover, it will also contain the state merit rank obtained by a candidate who is a permanent domicile of Assam.
Candidates will appear for counselling as per this merit list. However, they need to fill the Assam MBBS application form 2020 to appear at this counselling. There will be two rounds of counselling for a total 900 MBBS and 40 BDS seats allotted in six medical and dental colleges throughout Assam.
Among these 940 seats, 15% seats will be filled via the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for all India quota. Cut-off Marks as per NEET 2020
The minimum cut off marks for Assam MBBS admission 2020 are divided into 3 categories –
50% for general candidates.
40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
45% for unreserved PWD candidates.
Eligibility Criteria for Assam MBBS Admission

You have to qualify NEET 2020.
You have to be a citizen of India.
Your age should be at least 17 years.
You must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English is your 12th standard exam.
It is mandatory to complete your VII to XII standard studies from the state of Assam.
You should be declared medically fit by a healthcare professional.
You need to score at least 60% in Biology, Physics and Chemistry for UR categories and 50% for the same subjects for reserved categories.
You or your parents should be a permanent resident of Assam for at least 20 years.

The application form of Assam MBBS 2020 was scheduled to be released in the second week of June, the same week as the merit list publication, though now it has been delayed. It will be available on the official website of the DME, and if you have qualified in NEET 2020, you can download it. You need to download and fill-up the form, followed by submitting it offline during your counselling. Failing to do so may result in disqualification form counselling process.
