She used the wrong command and the pot kept on cooking which is why the pot overflowed and the porridge spilt everywhere.

She said, “ Do Not Cook Pot” which did not stop the pot from cooking because it was not the spell with which the old woman had charmed the pot in order to do its magic. This is when the porridge overflowed, spilt out and flowed outside their house and was everywhere in the village, and the villagers were coming to eat from the overflowing porridge.
