In recipes, the quantity of ingredients are generally defined by mass (commonly known as weight), by volume, or by count.

Today, metric measurements by weight are preferred almost in different parts of the World, though the preference for volume measurement is extensive among home cooks in the United States and North America. Different ingredients are measured differently.

For Example, liquid ingredients are measured by volume whereas solid ingredients such as sugar, and flour are measured by weight worldwide, and volume in North America. Solution:

As we know, 1 tablespoon equals 3 teaspoon

Accordingly,

We can use the formula, tablespoon (tbs) = teaspoon (tsp) 3 to convert a teaspoon to a tablespoon.

Therefore,

5 Tsp = 5 ÷ 3 = 1.666667 tbsp.


2. Convert ½ tablespoon to teaspoons.

Solution:

As we know, 1 tablespoon equals 0.33333 teaspoon.

Accordingly,

We can use the formula, teaspoon (tbs) = tablespoon (tsp) 3 to convert a tablespoon to teaspoon.

Therefore,

½ Tsp = ½ 3 = 1.5 tbsp.
