Business Studies is such a subject that demands students to know the context properly. The KBPE Business Studies question paper 2017 can be solved to judge the same and test the contextual knowledge of students. The 2017 question paper tests a student’s knowledge of the subject. It also asks the students about the Government policies related to the business and industry. This implies that the KBPE board wants to keep the students updated about the recent Government policies. Also, the question paper asks questions on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). This tells that the board tests students on the practicality of the subject as well. Topics like capital structure and the scientific management questions are also devised. All this will help a student to learn the subject properly and prepare for their Class 12 business studies exam.  

Question Paper Pattern

A brief sketch is given of the question paper designed in 2017 by the KBPE board for students of Class 12. The intention of setting such a standard paper for the high school students is to test their knowledge on how the business world works. The following is the pattern:

1. In total, there are 23 questions including the MCQs as well as short and long questions.

2. Questions 1, 2 and 3 is an MCQ-based question

3. Questions 4, 5 and 6 is a brief answer question of 3, 5 and 3 marks respectively.

4. Question 7 and 8 is an odd one out and one-word questions respectively.

5. Question 9 – 13 is again a brief answer question ranging marks from 4 to 2

6. Question 14 and 15 is one word and match the following questions respectively.

7. Question no. 16 to 21 carry a marks range of 3 to 5 marks of a brief answer.

8. Finally, there are long answer questions in Question number 22 and 23 of 8 marks giving the students an option each.

Check-List Before Exam

Before appearing for the exam, students are expected to follow a few strategies to complete their preparation efficiently. The checklist as a suggestion is provided:

1. Mental Preparation: Students need to know the value of the conduct of these exams. They need to understand the business world and give answers that will fit the requirement of the study. They need to be mentally prepared for various types of questions that can pop up in the examination paper relating to the field of study. For this, they need to read the textbooks as well as solve the question papers. 

2. Knowing the Important Chapters: Students need to know the important chapters that carry maximum weightage in the exam. They can first start with these chapters, then steadily go with the low weightage chapters. This is called smart studying.

3. Supplement For Detail Study: Detailed knowledge is already provided in the textbook. However, to self-assess your knowledge, the students must solve the question paper which will give a vivid sense of knowledge on the subject matter.

4. Ample Revision Time: Students should allow themselves ample revision time to check their weak points. Students can take the question paper as their guide to solve the previous year questions for revision.

How to Attempt the Question Paper

The business studies question paper is to be answered in such a manner that the examiner is impressed with your answers. Use specific technical words to give a good impression. In the extra 15 minutes provided by KBPE, students are advised to go through the question paper well and then chalk out the rough sketch in mind for the long answer for the eight marks questions and also a brief sketch for the 5, 4 or 3 marks. Rest questions of 1 or 2 marks can be attended in the last few minutes also. While attempting the long answer questions, it is always suggested to give supporting material for the answer, like you can explain the answer with diagrams or charts.
