Based on the initial feedback from students, the paper was similar to the earlier shifts of JEE Main January 2023. Students and experts both believed that Maths was lengthy again but not tough. Chemistry was moderate and Physics was easy to moderate. There were also 2 to 3 assertion reason questions.

As for the distribution, Maths was about 25% from the Class 11 syllabus, while Physics and Chemistry had about 30-35% weightage.

Maths Question Paper Analysis

  • Maths was not quite tough, but was lengthy.

  • Some questions inthis section were completely formula-based. 

  • Most of the questions were asked from chapters: Vectors & 3D, ITF, coordinate geometry, sets & functions, definite integration, limits, etc.

  • About 2 to 3 questions were from Limits & Continuity were asked.

Physics Question Paper Analysis

  • In terms of difficulty level, Physics was easy as compared to the other two.

  • Also, students believed that the section was similar to that of the earlier shifts. 

  • It had questions that were mostly formula-based, while some questions were concept application-based as well.

  • Most of the questions were asked from electrostatics, laws of motion, modern physics, projectile motion, thermodynamics, etc.

Chemistry Question Paper Analysis

  • Chemistry was easy in this shift as well.

  • Organic and inorganic chemistry had equal weightage in the MCQ sub-section.

  • Physical chemistry was mainly asked in the NAT sub-section.

  • Most of the questions were asked from biomolecules, polymers, mole concept, aromatic compounds, block elements, etc.
