Established in 2008, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development by the Government of India, IIT Jodhpur is one of the eight new IITs in the country. IIT Jodhpur Admission 2022

IIT Jodhpur is renowned as an institution of academic excellence which not only provides quality education but also seeks to admit and nurture students with high calibre and exceptional academic performance. For undergraduate courses, admission is determined by the rank that a student scores in the JEE examinations. IIT Jodhpur Cut-Offs

The admission process is regulated by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) in which IIT Jodhpur concludes the cutoff and the merit list is declared by JoSAA after each round. IIT Jodhpur cutoff is the minimum rank required by the candidates in JEE Advanced to be eligible for admission to the institute.

JoSAA Counselling Dates and Fees

The counselling begins on 12th September 2022 and will continue till 21st September 2022. The fee for counselling is Rs. 35000, which is the seat acceptance fee, and that for reserved categories is Rs. 15000.

1. What are the cut-off trends at IIT Jodhpur?

For B.Tech courses like computer engineering, bioengineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering - the institution asks for 75% marks in the qualifying board for the general category and 65% marks in the qualifying board for other categories. The opening ranks and closing ranks of all courses, the counselling process and the cut-offs for the IITs across the nation are determined by the JoSAA. While there are usually 7 rounds of counselling, in 2020 the JoSAA conducted only 6 rounds of counselling. The cut-off trends for IIT Jodhpur have shown both declining and trends that might either indicate high competition or slightly lower competition along with the ranks as well. In 2020, the JoSAA announced the results of the first round on October 17, 2020, and that of the last round on November 7th, 2020. Due to the increasing volume of applications, the government seeks to ensure that deserving students without means get their seats through various scholarships. IIT Jodhpur offers Merit cum Means scholarships to eminent candidates. 


For B.Tech Courses, students who belong to the General and OBC Category require a minimum of 60% in their 12th boards. They avail Rs 1000/month with no tuition fee being applicable. Students belonging to SC/ST category require a minimum of 55% in their 12th boards. They can avail of Rs 500/month and exemption from payment for hostel rent and meals. 


From the 2nd year onwards, students need to exhibit no-fail grades and a minimum CPI of 6.5.

Other scholarships offered include the Top Class Students - SC and ST Scholarships and UGC/CSIR fundings.
