Topics discussed in Chapter 12 Areas Related To Circles of NCERT for class 10 Mathematics

This chapter covers topics on areas related to circles.

  • The first topic of this chapter talks about:

The area of A circle can be calculated with circumference divided by its radius.

  • The second topic revolves around:

Its area increases with the number of concentric circles drawn around it.

That means that an area enclosed by three concentric, like a triangle (with sides), would require 3 times as much area as an area enclosed by two concentric, like a rectangle or a square.

  • The third topic focuses on:

For three concentric, it would require 2.8 times as much area as for two concentric. For four concentric, it would require 3.7 times as much area as for two concentric and so on.

Area of a circle: formula_1 = formula_2(plural) × radius × radius = 1/2 × radius² × radius

where formula_3 = perimeter and r = radius.

Area of a circle: formula_4 = formula_5(plural) × radius × radius = 2 × radius² × radius

where r is the radius of a circle with a perimeter of a, and formula_6 is its circumference.

Area of a circle: formula_7 = formula_8a(plural)

where a is the radius of a circle with a perimeter of p.

Area of a circle: formula_9 = (area of the triangle with sides p and r) × (area of the triangle with sides r and s)

where formula_10, and formula_11 is the area of an equilateral triangle. The area of an equilateral triangle is half the sum of the areas of the two equal triangles contained within it.
