There was a man who wanted to climb a very high mountain. So, he tied himself to a rope and started climbing the mountain using his tools. The mountain was very big and very steep. So, the man was having a lot of difficulties climbing.

However, he carried on thinking about when he would be able to reach the top. Very soon, night fell on the mountain and the man couldn’t see anything. There was no visibility around and all the stars were covered in heavy clouds.

The Man Falls Down the Mountain

When the man is just a few feet from the top of the mountain, his feet slipped and he started to fall down. The man could only see some black spots as he was falling down at a great speed. He started to feel a very terrible sensation in his bones that he was about to die. After all, who could survive a fall from such great heights?

As he kept falling, all the good and bad memories in his life flashed before his eyes. He understood that his death was close and he closed his eyes in anticipation. Suddenly, he felt the pull of the rope in his waist. His body was barely hanging in the air with the help of the rope. At that moment, he knew that nothing could save him. So, he cried out, “Help me, God.”

As soon as he screamed, a loud voice came from the sky and said, “What do you want me to do for you?” The man asked God to save him from death. God asked, “Do you really think that I can save you?” The man again said, “Yes, I have faith in you. I believe you can save me.” God then made a very unusual demand. He said, “Cut the rope and you will be saved.” The man thought about it but then he chose not to listen to God. He held on to the rope with every bit of his strength.

The Next Morning Comes

A rescue team heard about the man trapped on the mountain and came to save him the next day. But they only found the man frozen to death and the rope tied to his waist. He was just a few inches away from the ground. If he would’ve listened to God, he might have been alive.
