The Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) 2026-27 is conducted by the Mathematics Teachers' Association of India (MTAI) in association with HBCSE, and is the first stage of the Indian Mathematical Olympiad programme for students of Classes 8 to 12.


The IOQM 2026 registration last date is 25 July 2026 for both centre-based and individual online applicants. IOQM 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Before starting the IOQM registration 2026, students must confirm they meet all the eligibility conditions set jointly by MTAI and HBCSE:


  • Class: The student must be studying in Class 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12 in a recognised Indian school.

  • Age Limit: The student must be born between 1 August 2007 and 31 July 2014.

  • Academic Status: The student must not have cleared or been scheduled to appear for the Class 12 board exams before 30 October 2026, and must not have started regular university studies before 1 June 2026.

  • Diploma Students: Students enrolled in a 3-year diploma course after Class 10 are not eligible.

  • Citizenship: The candidate must hold an Indian passport. OCI cardholders may appear and progress through the training stages but cannot represent India at international Olympiads.

  • A school is treated as an IOQM 2026-27 test centre only after centre verification is completed and approved by the committee.
