UP NEET Counselling Procedure: 2024

The schedule of counselling is expected to be released in September 2024. Once you get to know the schedule, you will be aware of how many rounds of counselling are going to be held this year. This may change later depending on the number of vacant seats. NEET candidates who are willing to participate in the UP NEET 2024 counselling will have to register on the official website of UP NEET. You can register for every round 3-4 days before the counselling round. Following the first round of counselling, the remaining vacant seats will be filled during the second round of counselling. If any seat remains unfilled even after these two rounds, there will be a mop-up round conducted to fill the seats.

Steps to Follow for Uttar Pradesh MBBS Counselling 2024

Registration:

Candidates who are willing to register for Uttar Pradesh NEET UG counselling 2024 have to register on the official website (https://upneet.gov.in/) along with submission of Rs. 2000. Upon the successful completion of the procedure, the candidates will be eligible to appear for the first round of counselling. But the candidate who once appears for the first round of counselling, won’t be eligible for the second round.

Choice Filling:

Once the registration is done, the candidate will have to log in on the website. Then the candidate will be able to check the list of colleges on the screen. A candidate must choose the desired colleges in the order of preference. Prior to applying to any private and minority colleges, one should always keep all the information about the college. 

Submission of Deposit Money:

Along with the documents verification, every candidate must pay the security deposit amount through a demand draft/ DD drawn in favour of the Director-General, Medical Education & Training, UP. It will be payable at the nodal office in Lucknow. The security deposit is refundable once the admission process of UP MBBS is over.

If a candidate is opting for a government college, then a sum of Rs. 30,000/-. needs to be paid. In the case of a private college, candidates need to pay a sum of Rs. 20,000/-. And, if the candidate wants to attend counselling for both the government and private colleges, he/she has to pay an amount of Rs. 2,00,000/-. Failing to report to the allocated college on time, the security money will be confiscated. 

Verification of Documents:

Upon the registration and deposition of the security money, a candidate will have to report to the respective nodal centres for the documents verification procedure and the submission of security deposit. If a candidate fails to report to the respective nodal centre in the given time, his/her seat will be forfeited and given to the candidate next in line. Upon all the successful verification of the documents, candidates will be able to proceed to the next stage of counselling of UP NEET 2024.

Eligibility Criteria for UP NEET Counselling 2024

• Firstly, the candidate must have qualified for the NEET Entrance Examination 2024.

• They should be citizens of India and the domicile of Uttar Pradesh.

• Aspiring students must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English.

•  A minimum of 50% marks for the General category candidates, 40% marks for SC/ST category candidates, and 45% marks for Physically Handicap candidates are mandatory.

• The age of the student must be 17 years as of 31 December 2024. Those born on or after 2 January 2005 are not eligible for admission.

UP NEET Counselling 2024 - Documents Required for Verification

All the candidates who are eligible for the NEET UP state quota counselling will have to submit the following documents to the respective nodal centres for verification. Failing to which will forfeit the allotted seat to the candidates. It is mandatory to carry all the original documents along with the photocopies.
