Before you take a look at the NEET 2019 Answer Key, it is important to have with you the question paper as well. Vedantu also provides the NEET 2019 Question Papers along with paper codes in the following links:

How to Download Answer Key for NEET 2019

It is very easy to download the NEET 2019 official answer key available on the official website for the National Test Agency (NTA), the body responsible for conducting all such competitive examinations. You have to go to the official NTA website. Then you have to log in with your candidate password. After logging in, the dashboard will show you the option to “Apply for Key Challenge” on the left side. Clicking on this tab will open the answer key for you. From here, you can also get the link to download the answer key NEET 2019.

Download the answer key from the given link on this website to predict your score. Make sure that you download the answer key with the same paper code that you got in the exam or the paper code that you are consulting for the preparation of NEET 2025. There are as many as 48 paper codes that were used for the NEET 2019 test. So, for example, while handling NEET 2019 official answer key, look for only the answer key to P1 if you got paper code P1 in your exam or if you are having P1 in your hand for preparation.

How to use the NEET 2019 Answer Key?

You have got the answer key for the corresponding paper code. Now what? The NEET 2019 Answer Key is meant to provide candidates with an insight into how well they were able to score. This is predicted by matching their answers with the downloaded answer key and using the marking scheme to calculate their score.

As you know, NEET 2019 had a total of 180 questions: 45 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Each of these questions carried 4 marks. That means the total marks for each of the subjects was 180. So, the total marks that the subjects carried altogether in NEET 2019 was 720.

Now when you examine the NEET 2019 answer key and compare it with your OMR sheet, assign a +1 mark for every correct answer and -4 marks for every incorrect answer. Then calculate the total of the positive marks and take away the total of the negative marks from it. What is left is the total marks that you have scored as per the answer key. In this way, you can make a fairly accurate guess of how many marks you will be getting out of the total 720 when the result is announced.

Answer Key NEET 2019: Some Stats

A very interesting thing happened after the cut off for NEET 2019 was announced. Many seats in various dental colleges were left vacant as most of the candidates could not achieve the cutoff. As a result, the cutoff marks for admission in BDS had to be lowered. As per the revised notification, a cutoff of 40 percentile for general candidates, 30 percentile for reserved category candidates, and 35 percentile for physically handicapped candidates was set.

For MBBS admission, cutoffs of 134, 120, and 107 marks were set for general, general PH, and reserved category candidates respectively.

All these statistics can be derived easily from the NEET answer key and that can be of great help for students preparing for NEET in the following year.

A difference in the format of the paper codes for NEET 2019 was also observed in comparison to the previous years’ question papers for NEET. The NEET 2019 paper code format includes alphabets and numbers while previous years’ paper codes only included the use of alphabets.

Now, let’s come to the most important part of the NEET NTA answer key analysis- the questions.

NEET Answer Key 2019: Some Tricky Questions

A standard NEET question paper has all types of questions- while some are straight from the text, some can be tricky and application-based, and a few- advanced types as well. For example, can you answer the questions that need you to have the same level of knowledge that a medical student has when you have just passed the Class 12 exams? No, right? This is the reason, the question where you have to choose insulin-dependent glucose transporters appears to be rather tricky to you.

The question regarding cranial capacity appears tricky when you see the NEET 2019 key answer. The answer is not covered by the lessons taught in schools that follow the NCERT syllabus. The Biology question on the prosthetic group has the coaching institutes and NTA divided. The question- ‘what do the cells in the G0 phase do’ confused the candidates as well. The question involving the structure of BR3O8 appeared to be confusing too.

So, gear up your preparations to avoid any low-on-confidence moments during the exam. In addition to texts, read books and study materials that give extra information on the topics covered by the NCERT syllabus.
