The authorized body for conducting Karnataka NEET Counselling is the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), Bangalore. The counselling will be conducted only for the eligible candidates. On the basis of the scores obtained by the candidates in the NEET, the counselling MBBS and BDS Courses will be conducted online. The counselling process involves three different rounds in addition to an extra mop up round. If in case, the allotted number of seats in the Medical and Dental colleges of Karnataka is still vacant, then the KEA is authorized to conduct an additional round of counselling to allot the vacant seats. Document verification process is must for all the candidates prior to the begin of counselling sessions.
The KEA will release a provisional merit list enlisting all the medical and dental aspirants who are eligible for Karnataka NEET Counselling 2020. The first stage of counselling is the verification of documents. The candidates are expected to submit all the required documents for verification without which the gates of counselling process is not open for them. The most important documents that are to be submitted by the eligible candidates at the time of verification are:
A hard copy of the Karnataka MBBS 2020 application form
Bank Challan Copy
NEET Admit Card
Secondary School Certificate
Proof of marks for 2nd PUC or 12th Standard or any other equivalent examination
A pair of recent passport size photographs
Study certificate attested by the BEO (Block Education Officer) or DDPI (Deputy Director of Public Instruction).
Scorecard of the NEET result
Domicile certificate if applicable
Certificate of reservation if applicable
Application fee payment receipt
Declaration of mother tongue duly sworn
In addition to the above mentioned documents, the candidates are also expected to submit a few other documents on demand based on their criteria of eligibility. Students can get the details of these additional documents in the official brochure.
Once the candidates are through with the process of verification of documents, they will be given a unique security code. This is useful for the candidates at the time of Karnataka Medical Counselling to login to their applicant portals. While filling their choices, candidates should be aware of their preferred colleges based on their NEET rank and Category to which they belong. Students should also know that the 85% of the seats under State Quota include 6577 medical seats and 2674 Dental seats. The counselling process starts after the release of the seat matrix for that particular year. Attending the mock round makes the candidates more confident and gives them a clarification to all their doubts and misconceptions. The seats during Karnataka NEET counselling 2019 were allotted based on the merit cum preference, number of available seats, the criteria of reservation and several other factors. During Karnataka NEET Counselling 2019, the candidates were also informed to report to the allotted colleges within the prescribed dates and timings.
The Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2019 had a list of sequential processes that describe the flow of the entire process of allotment of seats to the candidates aspiring Medical or Dental Education in Karnataka. Step 1: Karnataka MBBS Counselling Login
A direct link to enter the login page will be provided to the candidates. However, the students can also visit the official website of KEA to find the link for the login portal. The aspirants should use the security key provided at the time of document verification to log in to the portal.
Step 2: Participating Institute’s Display
The list of participating institutes that offer medical and dental seats to the candidates are displayed once the candidate has logged into the portal. Several options are mentioned in the order: college wise, category wise, course wise, and discipline wise.
Step 3: Filling Choices and Locking
Students should carefully choose their preferences and lock their choices. However, there is no restriction on the number of colleges chosen by the student. The choices are expected to be locked by the candidates on the final day because this list of choices will be considered to allot seats to the eligible candidates.
Step 4: Allotment of Seats
The authorized body will allot the seats based on the choices made by the candidates, reservation category, seat availability, etc. After the completion of the entire process of Karnataka Medical Counselling 2020, the candidate can take admission in the respective colleges. Students can also refer to the Karnataka UG NEET Counselling 2019 and seat allotment done in that year to get a better understanding of seat allotment.
Step 5: Report to the College
Once the counseling process is complete and a seat is allotted to the students, the students are expected to report at the allotted college on the given dates and timings. The admission will not be granted until and unless the student reports at the college.
1. Who is eligible for NEET MBBS Counselling in Karnataka?
The candidates who aspire to acquire a medical seat in any of the Medical or dental colleges in Karnataka should meet the following eligibility norms.
The applicant must be a citizen of India and must have qualified scores in NEET 2020 based on their category.
The applicant must be at least 17 years of age.
Candidates who take up the NEET exam just to improve their performance are not eligible for the Karnataka Medical Counselling 2020.
