About AIIMS 2019 Chemistry Question Paper with Solutions - 25th May 2019 Morning Shift

Many aspiring medical students breathed a sigh of relief when NEET was declared as the only valid medical exam for admission into reputed Government and Private medical colleges like AIIMS for MBBS and other such Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.  This lessened the pressure of the students for appearing for various other separate exams conducted by reputed institutes. But on the other hand, it increased the competition for a few thousand seats in all the medical colleges in India.

With the exclusion of the AIIMS MBBS entrance test and JIPMER, students could now focus on only one medical exam instead of preparing for several other exams meant for admission into private medical institutes. Unlike AIIMS which also had General Knowledge (Current Affairs) as a separate paper, NEET includes three core subjects in its vast syllabus- Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology). Due to the intense competition over a few seats, students must now work extra hard since the results are counted up till the last decimal for the best medical seats. Also, the eligibility criteria have been given some respite regarding the upper age limit on which a decision is yet to be made. Students must have the minimum percentile necessary to apply for NEET which is 50% for the general category, 40% for ST/SC/OBC category and 45% for the PwD category. But these percentiles change after the student completes and receives the results since every medical college has its own set of minimum percentile criteria for a limited number of seats. NTA‘s NEET has an advantage that favours students who are meritorious and get good marks through fair means which leaves no space for any scams or cheating.

Despite NEET and AIIMS MBBS syllabus being nearly the same, NEET only pays attention to Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) unlike the General Knowledge paper in AIIMS. Also, students must answer only 180 out of 200 questions in NEET within 3 hours which gives students lots of time to analyse the question paper and answer accordingly.

NCERTs has been created to clear doubts of subjects especially Science subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
