All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Entrance Exam 2019

AIIMS conducted the entrance exam for the undergraduate course on May 26 2019. Today there’s only one examination, i.e. NEET, for all the medical colleges available in India. 


AIIMS 2019 exam consists of a total 200 questions in which 160 objective types of questions and 40 questions based on Assertions and Reasoning to solve in three and a half-hour. Examination is split into two shifts, morning and evening. Paper consists of questions from Biology, Physics, Chemistry and General Knowledge.

Exam Pattern

AIIMS conducts the MBBS entrance exam online through a computer-based exam. The exam includes 200 questions for 200 marks. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology consist of 60 questions each for 60 marks, and the remaining 20 questions cover the General Knowledge part. Also, there is 1/3rd negative marking for each wrong answer.

AIIMS eligibility requirements:

Age Requirements - Students must be at least 17 years old.

General 60 percent, SC/ST 50 percent, and PWD 45 percent are the minimum marks.

Biology, physics, and chemistry should be included in the qualifying examination for subject candidates.

1. Why are there no AIIMS exam papers available for the year 2020?

From the year 2020, the government has included the AIIMS exam in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), now National Test Agency (NTA) conducts one single examination for all medical colleges in India. You can download the previous AIIMS exam papers up to 2019 from the website that will support you in the preparation of NEET. The pattern of the exam is mostly the same, NEET consists of 180 questions for one mark each.

2. Which shift of AIIMS 2019 has easy questions?

Both shifts of AIIMS 2019 contain different questions. Most of the students presumably find that their shift paper is more challenging than the other ones. 5. How many AIIMS does India have?

As of January, 15 AIIMS are operating in India. AIIMA comes under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
