The Enchantress and the Apple Tree PDF

Three brothers were living in a village with their widow mother. They wanted to find a match and settle down. To their surprise, there were no eligible women to marry.

They were told that a woman lived far away from the village. She was an enchantress who could find the right solution to their problems. All the brothers went to her with a plea to find suitable brides for them.

The woman’s fame was not false. She listened to the brothers’ plea and asked what kind of wives they wanted.

The eldest brother explained that he wanted to marry a beautiful woman. The middle one described that he wants to marry a rich woman. The youngest of them explained that he wanted to marry a simple woman who would always love him through thick and thin.

The Enchantress’ Solution

The old enchantress told the brothers to go to a castle far away from this village. There was a magic apple tree. She ordered each of the brothers to pick the most beautiful apple. She also asked them to take bread and wine with them there. She also warned the brothers not to consume wine and bread before plucking the apples.

The Apple Tree

The brothers set their journey to the apple tree. The eldest and the middle brother were exhausted from the journey, so they ate the bread. They also drank wine to quench their thirst. The youngest brother did not eat or drink and followed the enchantress’ instructions.

The youngest gave his bread and wine to the remaining woman. She was happy and stayed with him. The two brothers were frustrated as they did not listen to what the old lady said.

The Surprise of the Enchantress

In this story of the Enchantress and the Apple Tree PDF, the brothers returned to the enchantress. The youngest brother was accompanied by his wife. To their surprise, the two women who had disappeared in the garden were also there with the enchantress. She said, “I am very happy with what the youngest has done. This is a gift for his diligence, dedication, and kindness.”

All the brothers lived happily with their wives, but the youngest was the happiest.

Conclusion: Find The Virtues That Do Not Fade
