  • A location is determined by a point. A capital letter is used to indicate it.

  • The shortest distance between two points is represented as a line segment. The line segment connecting points A and B is denoted by $\overline{\text{AB}}$ or $\overline{\text{BA}}$.

Line Segment

  • A line is formed when a line segment, such as $\overleftrightarrow{\text{AB}}$, is extended infinitely on both sides; it is denoted by $\overleftrightarrow{\text{AB}}$ or, in some cases, by a single small letter, such as $l$.

Line

  • Intersecting lines are any two distinct lines that meet at a location. If two lines in a plane do not cross, they are said to be parallel.

Parallel and Intersecting lines

  • A ray is a segment of line that begins at a point and continues in one direction infinitely. In ray one point has an arrow and the other one a dot point.

Ray

  • An angle is a figure created by two rays, known as the sides of the angle, that share a common terminus (starting point), known as the angle's vertex.  Angles generated by two rays lie on the plane in which the rays are contained.

  • An angle is formed up of two rays that originate from the same point.

  • Two rays $\overrightarrow{\text{OA}}$ and   $\overrightarrow{\text{OB}}$ forms $\angle \text{AOB}$ (or also called $\angle \text{BOA}$). An angle divides a territory into three sections: on the angle, inside the angle, and outside the angle.

Angle

  • A curve is any drawing (straight or non-straight) made without lifting the pencil. A line is also a curve in this sense.

Curve

  • A straight line that does not cross itself is called a simple curve.

  • If the ends of a curve are linked, it is said to be closed; otherwise, it is said to be open.

  1. A polygon is a closed curve made up of line segments that is straightforward to draw. The polygon's sides are represented by the line segments.

  2. Adjacent sides are any two sides that share a common endpoint.

  3. A vertex is the point where two sides intersect.

  4. The vertices at the ends of the same side are contiguous.

  5. A diagonal is formed by joining any two non-adjacent vertices.

Polygon

  • A triangle is a three-sided polygon with three sides and three angles.

Triangle

  • A four-sided polygon is known as a quadrilateral. In the quadrilateral $\text{PQRS}$, $\text{PQ  }\And\text{  RS}$ and $\text{QR  }\And\text{  PS}$ are opposite sides, $\angle \text{P  }\And \text{  }\angle \text{R}$ and $\angle \text{Q  } \And \text{  }\angle \text{S}$ are the pairs of opposite angles, $\angle \text{P}$ is adjacent to $\angle \text{Q  } \And\text{  }\angle \text{S}$, other three angles have similar relationships.

Quadrilateral

  • Circle:

  1. The route of a point travelling at the same distance from a fixed point is called a circle. The centre is the fixed point, the radius is the fixed distance, and the circumference is the distance around the circle.

  2. A circle's chord is a line segment that connects any two locations on the circle. A diameter is a chord that passes across the circle's centre.

  3. A sector is a region in the interior of a circle that is bounded on one side by an arc and on the other two sides by a pair of radii.

  4. A circle segment is a section within the circle that is contained by an arc and a chord.

  5. A circle's diameter separates it into two semi-circles.
