About ICO Olympiad Exam

The International Commerce Olympiad (ICO) is a single level examination conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) in partnership with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India. SOF introduced the examination of ICO in the year of 2016. ICO is only for the students of higher classes i.e., for classes 11 and 12. Students from all the streams are eligible to take part in the International Commerce Olympiad (ICO). ICO makes the process of learning interesting and interactive for students who can showcase their skills, talents, memory, and knowledge. Every student who participates in the ICO examinations receives a Student Performance Report (SPR) that analyzes their performance in the exam. Every year ICO spends a huge amount of money on awards, gifts, and scholarships for the students who pass the exams with flying colors.

ICO Exam Date

The International Commerce Olympiad (ICO) was supposed to conduct its exam in 2 days 

Day 1: 10th of December, 2020

Day 2: 19th of January, 2020

The exams are canceled for the year 2020 due to Corona Virus Pandemic. There will be no exams this year. Students are requested to stay tuned to the official page of SOF for any upcoming update.

How To Register For ICO Examinations?

The registration for ICO Examination is done online. To register for ICO examination, students have to follow these simple steps.

  1. Students will have to register online on the official website of the science olympiad foundation (SOF).

  2. A confirmation message will be sent to the registered mobile number once the registration is done.

  3. Students will have to fill up the necessary school details by their registered email id and password.

  4. The next step will be to fill up the details about your Accountancy and Business studies school teacher for the certificates, the maximum limit is 7.

  5. Necessary details like name, class, and mobile number needs to be filled up.

  6. The student will then have to make the payment online and take the printout of the receipt and other forms for future reference.

  7. The printouts of the copies duly attested by the Principal along with the payment receipt.

Eligibility Criteria For ICO Examinations

Any students who are interested and want to participate in the International Commerce Olympiad (ICO) are to follow these eligibility criteria. 

  1. Students of classes 11 and 12 only are eligible for ICO examinations.

  2. Students from any stream can apply.

Registration Fees

The International Commerce Olympiad examination charges Rs 125 (Including GST) as the registration fee from the schools in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan & Nepal. The schools may also charge an additional Rs 25 per student. Any student suffering from a major physical disability or an Indian student whose parent was martyred during defense operations are freed from paying any kind of fee.

Admit Card For ICO Examination

The International Commerce Olympiad examination Admit cards will be made available on the official website so the students can download it from the website. All the registered schools will get the admit cards couriered and emailed to them. The student must bring the admit card on the day of the examination as entry without the admit card will be restricted. The examination will be held in the respective schools of the participants only during school hours. The admit card consist of details like candidate’s roll number, name, date of the examination, and exam center.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Question 1) What is the Examination Pattern for ICO Exams?

Answer 1) The exam pattern for the students appearing for ICO is given below so the students can prepare for the exam accordingly.  

  1. The question type will be objective i.e., multiple-choice questions.

  2. Students will get 1 hour to complete the exam.

  3. The mode of examination will be in English. 

  4. There will be two different sets of question papers for each class.

  5. The examination paper will be set according to the syllabus of CBSE, ICSE/ISC, and the State Board.

  6. The examination will be conducted during school hours. 

  7. There will be four sections of the question paper:

Section 1) Economics

Section 2) Business Studies

Section 3) Accountancy

Section 4) Achievers Section

Question 2) How to Check ICO Examination Result?

Answer 2) To check The International Commerce Olympiad (ICO) examination result, students can follow the steps given below:

Step 1) Students must visit the official website first.

Step 2) On the official website, the students will find an “Update” section window which they need to click on. 

Step 3) The page will automatically be redirected to the page where the students will have to enter their credentials like Roll number which will already be mentioned on the SOF ICO admit card.

Step 4) Students must download and print out the result for future references.

Question 3) What are the Details Mentioned on the ICO Result?

Answer 3) Details like Name of the Candidate, Parents name, School name, Roll Number, Exam Name, Marks Obtained, Conducting Authority, School Rank, Zone Rank, and Award are mentioned on the ICO result.

Question 4) What are the Awards for Olympiad Exams?

Answer 4) Anyone whose performance is excellent is awarded at the end of both the exams i.e., level 1 and level 2. 

  1. For NSO, the award is INR 50,000, a gold medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.

  2. For NCO,  the award is INR 50,000, a gold medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.

  3. For IMO, the award is INR 50,000, a gold medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.

  4. For IEO, the award is INR 50,000, a gold medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.

  5. For ICSO,  the award is INR 1,00,000, a gold medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.   

  6. For, IGKO, the award is INR 50,000, a gold medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.
