1. What is NEET?
NEET, also called the national eligibility cum entrance test, is a medical exam conducted for students aspiring to make a career in the medical field. This exam is held every year in May, throughout the country. It is administered by the NTA called the National Testing Agency that conducts various exams such as DUET, JNUEE, etc. The entrance exam is mainly based on the syllabus of 11th and 12th concerning biology, Chemistry and Physics. The duration of the exam is 3 hours, consisting of 180 questions.
2. When will the NEET exam be held in 2025?
The National Eligibility Entrance Test is held every year in May. Registrations for NEET 2025 have already been started in November 2024 the applications will be closed by December 2024. The admit cards will be released in April 2025. The answer keys will be released one month after the exam has taken place and the results will be released in June 2025. For now, only tentative date sheets have been released. Aspirants are advised to keep checking the exam dates and prepare accordingly.
3. What is the marks weightage of Physics, Chemistry and Biology?
There are a total of 180 multiple choice type questions of which 45 questions are allotted to Physics, 90 questions to Biology and 45 questions to Chemistry. +4 marks have been allotted to every correct answer while -1 is allotted to every wrong answer attempted by the candidate. The aspirants are advised to follow a systematic timetable that will help them to prepare for the exams that are set in accordance with the weightage. Knowing the weightage and specific concepts of the subjects will help the candidate to prepare accordingly and it will also help them to get an idea about important topics and topics that have to be studied in depth.

5. Does NEET have two phases?
No, there are no two phases of NEET; only a single exam will be held in May 2025. It is only in 2015 and 16 that two phases of the examination were held due to some discrepancies in the system; candidates who didn’t appear in phase 1 of the examination were requested to appear in phase 2. Also, the candidates who did appear in phase 1 were also allowed to appear in phase II, the deal-breaker being that if the candidate appears in phase 2 then the phase 1 marks will not be counted.
