NEET UG 2023 is the nationwide entrance exam to offer a counselling platform for eligible medical aspirants to seek courses in enlisted colleges. Once the exam is over, students will participate in Meghalaya state counselling NEET UG 2023 to choose medical colleges per their preferences and lock the options.


Students will be allotted specific seats in the medical colleges based on merit, seat availability, reservation categories, preferences and eligibility. Multiple rounds of counselling will be conducted to fill all the MBBS and BDS seats in the state. Meghalaya NEET UG 2023: A Brief Introduction

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted by the National Testing Agency, a Government of India enterprise, across the country. NEET UG 2023 is conducted to admit eligible students to their state colleges. Students from other states can also apply for specific colleges in Meghalaya based on the criteria set.


The counselling part is overseen by the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DHFW), Government of Meghalaya. 85% of the total seats available in the medical colleges of Meghalaya will be filled with this process. Candidates will be chosen based on merit, preferences and reservation categories for MBBS and BDS courses.

Application Process

Candidates willing to participate in the counselling process must collect the application form physically. They should complete the application form and submit all the required documents within the stipulated time period. Everything is mentioned on the prospectus related to the application process. Candidates must follow all the steps to avoid cancelling their applications.


Candidates must keep the original receipt of the application form as proof for future reference. The form can be submitted physically or by speed post.


Counselling Rounds

After the application is filled with the respective college options, a merit list will be issued with the names of the chosen candidates based on their merit and reservation categories. Every Meghalaya MBBS counselling round will have a separate list. Chosen candidates must report to the respective medical colleges where their seats are allotted. The list will be published offline and online. Students can check the list in the official portal of the conducting authority.


Document Verification

Chosen candidates will have to appear in the venue for document verification. Generally, the counselling authority provides two schedules for document verification. Candidates must attend any of the two sessions to complete the application process. The dates for the document verification are published on the official website.


Candidates must carry all the original documents and photocopies along with their recent passport-size photographs for the verification session. Once verified, candidates will be allotted seats in the respective medical colleges.


Seat Allotment

After successful document verification for Meghalaya MBBS counselling 2023 is done, eligible candidates will be sorted for seat allotment. Seats will be allotted based on the merit level, choice of colleges, reservation categories, and college vacancies.


Once the nomination of the seats is done, a list will be published. Candidates will find out which college they have been allotted based on the list. They will report to the college physically and seek admission for MBBS and BDS courses.


Documents Required For NEET UG 2023 Meghalaya Counselling

A candidate must present a list of documents to apply for NEET UG 2023 counselling in Meghalaya.


  • NEET UG 2023 scorecard and admit card original

  • Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and passing certificates

  • Reservation category certificate

  • Permanent residential certificate (if necessary)

  • Character certificate (if required)

NEET UG 2023 Bond Agreement for Chosen Candidates

As per the government rules, candidates allotted MBBS and BDS seats for studying via NEET UG 2023 must sign a bond. It dictates that the candidates must serve at least 5 years in the state after completing their degree courses in the medical colleges. Upon violating this bond agreement, candidates will be penalised by the government.
