Eligibility

Eligibility for appearing in the qualifier is as follows:

To appear in the NEET examination, which is mandatory to join this college, the students need to pass the 12th Board or an equivalent exam with Physics, Biology/Biotechnology, Chemistry, and English as their main core subjects.
All the other criteria are the same as for appearing in the NEET examination.

Courses Offered at JIPMER are as Follows:

MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery): This is the most well-taught course at JIPMER, every year a lot of aspirants apply for JIPMER admissions for just this course and pursue their goal of becoming a doctor.
B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science): JIPMER also offers an excellent B.Sc Degree and the quality of education is well sought-after, admissions to this course are made every year. This course offers B.Sc. in Nursing (a four-year degree course), and B.Sc. in Allied Medical Sciences (which is a 3-year course), in the latter course, Medical Laboratory, Neuro-Technology, Dialysis Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiotherapy Technology, and other courses are available. The total number of seats open in these B.Sc. courses are over 130.
M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) is a postgraduate course with a duration of 3 years, and you can specialize in Anatomy, Anesthesiology, Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion, Forensic Medicine, Physiology, Radio-Diagnoses, and many other courses
M.S. (Master of Surgery) has branches available for General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics, and Gynecology, etc.
M.Sc. (Master of Science): In this course, students can either pursue it in Allied Medical Sciences or Nursing or even Master of Public Health which is a 2-year course and 1-year compulsory internship.

1. Does JIPMER have MBBS?

The Jawaharlal Institute Medical Postgraduate Education and Research in Puducherry is one of the most prolific colleges that provide MBBS courses in India. There are two medical colleges under JIPMER and they are JIPMER Puducherry and JIPMER Karaikal.

JIMER, Puducherry has 150 seats for MBBS and was established in 1956 This Government college is under the top 10 Medical Colleges.
JIPMER, Karaikal has several 50 seats reserved for MBBS and this new campus was initiated from the academic session 2016-17. The Karaikal Campus is located 150 km south of Puducherry.

3. Is AIIMS better than JIPMER?
