Chapter 1: Chidiya aur Churugan

With the help of this poem, the poet wants to describe the situation of children when they are loaded with lots of questions about themselves. Like the bird, parents also help their kids at every step and inform them about new things. Finally, the poem is written with the message that like churugan, we should also tell everything to our parents so that they can know what is exactly happening in our life and restrict us from making any wrong decision. 


Chapter 2: Sabse Sundar Ladki

This story is based on three children named Harsh, Manjri and Kanak. Manjari had come to Harsh’s house from another village. She was scared of sea waves but loved to go there with Harsh; however, Harsh loved to swim with Kanak. Kanak was a poor girl and her father died at an early age. Manjari didn’t like the friendship between Kanak and Harsh but suddenly her emotions changed for Kanak and she started liking her when Kanak saved her life. This story depicts the importance of the sea as well. 


Chapter 3: Me Hu Robot

Written by Rajiv Garg, this chapter throws light on the qualities of the robot. It points towards the current change in the world and describes how human beings are developing new and advanced things. Robots are quite helpful for human beings as they can do anything and everything. Also, their maintenance cost is quite less than a human's salary. According to the writer, the robot will become the most important in the near future. 


Chapter 4: Gubbare aur Chita

This chapter of Latest NCERT Books for Class 7 Hindi Durva is written by the famous writer Premchand. This story is all about a boy named Baldev who went to see the circus despite being restricted by his headmaster. There he got stuck in a big problem. He saw that one tiger was coming towards him and in order to save his life he sat in the hot air balloon which started flying. He finally gets out of this problem after struggling a lot. All and all, this story teaches us that we should follow the advice of our elders.


Chapter 5: Thodi Dharti Pau

Written by Sarveshwar Dayal Saxena, this poem thodi dharti pau depicts the importance of trees in our life. In this poem, the poet is saying that if he had a small piece of land then he would grow his own garden in it. But this is not possible for him in reality. According to him, there is not even a single piece of land available due to urbanization. Humans have destroyed plenty of forests in order to build new houses but this has created several problems. 


Chapter 6: Garo

This chapter is based on the folk tale of Meghalaya and throws light on the history of the Garo tribe. This folk tale describes the quality of the Garo tribe, their arrival in India and their development. According to this folk tale, students come to know that this tribe earlier lived in the beautiful valleys of China and Tibet. But they shifted to India, owing to the food and other problems. This is one of the important tribes of India. 


Chapter 7: Pustake Jo Amar Hein

This chapter of NCERT Textbooks Class 7 Hindi Durva is written by Manoj Das and is translated in Hindi by Balkram Naagar. This chapter describes the importance of books and offers detailed information about the same. According to this chapter, books are present for a long time in different forms. It throws light on how earlier writers wrote a book on stones and woods. This chapter also discusses Nalanda University and library in Sikandriya. Both these libraries were very old and famous. 


Chapter 8: Kabuliwala

The author of Kabuliwala is Ravindra Nath Tagore. This story revolves around Kabuliwala and a little girl Mini. Kabuliwala is a Pathan and Mini belongs to a Hindu family. Both of them share a good bond and there is no wall of religion between them. Kabuliwala and Mini as his daughter and Mini treats him like her friend with whom she can share everything. But Kabuliwala had to go Jail, owing to some reason and when he came back, Mini had grown up and forgotten about Kabuliwala. This chapter spreads the lesson of love and brotherhood. 


Chapter 9: Vishweshwarya

Written by R.K. Murti, this story is dedicated to the author’s own creation Abhiyanta and Rajnayik Sir Mokshagudam. This story introduces us to their childhood. Vishweshwarya was thoughtful and hard working right from their childhood days. He used to spend his time learning the secrets of nature instead of playing and roaming here and there. His ability to learn new concepts with ease and his curiosity about new things have given birth to new methodologies and later on, these methodologies have changed the entire picture of the nation. 


Chapter 10: Hum Dharti Ke Lal

This poem is written by the famous poet Sheel and motivates us to begin a new country, new humans and new world, free from all tensions and problems. This new world always respects hardships and gives a fair chance to new imaginations. Here, everyone gets equal rights, regardless of religion, caste and financial status. This world will be beautiful like heaven and here every day will be celebrated like a festival. The poet basically wants to eradicate corruption, problems, inequality and negative thinking from the present world to make it a beautiful place to live. 


Chapter 11: Pongal

This chapter is based on the major festival of South India i.e. Pongal. Pongal is celebrated with joy in South India. This festival is related to agriculture and is celebrated with love and belief by farmers. This festival lasts up to four days. The first day of celebration is known as Bhogi Pongal and on this day, the house cleaning is done. The second day is celebrated as Pongal, the third day is known as Matt Pongal and the fourth day of celebration is called kadum Pongal. 


Chapter 12: Shaheed Jhalkaribai

This chapter of NCERT Books PDF Class 7 Hindi Durva is based on the freedom fighter named Jhalkaribai. It mainly presents the picture of freedom riots in 1857 when the British government’s cruelty had reached to their heights. They were destroying innocent kings and were bringing their family to the road. Jhalkaribai is the courtier of Rani Lakshmi Bai and had helped her in their freedom fights. She was ready to do anything for her queen and country in order to save them. 


Chapter 13: Nartyangna Sudha Chandran

This story is dedicated to the famous actress and dancer Sudha Chandran. Her life is a motivation for the people who get disabled accidently. There is no dearth of negative thinkers in this world and disabled people usually lose their hope. Sudha Chandran gives motivation to such people. She had lost her left leg in her early childhood, but she decided to learn dance with a duplicate leg and has transformed her dreams into reality. 


Chapter 14: Paani aur Dhoop

Written by Subhadra Kumari Chauhan, this poem paani aur dhoop is created with the emotions of patriotism in mind. Subhadra was a poet of those times when India was struggling for independence. She was living the curse of dependence and thus her serious tone of writing poems is really obvious. She made aware people of this curse and motivated them to fight for freedom. In this poem, the poet presents the atrocity of the British Government through the medium of a girl, cloud, sun and electricity. Along with this, it also describes the condition of freedom fighters. 


Chapter 15: Geet

This chapter is written by Kedarnath Aggarwal and talks about the development of education. According to him, education is the only medium to bring development and progress in India. This can give a whole new life to poor people. The poet further explains that poor people are always insulted in society because they are uneducated and thus they have no source of income. Illiteracy is the root cause of all problems and appropriate measures should be taken to eradicate this problem fully. 


Chapter 16: Mitti Ki Murti

This chapter describes the importance of soil and how different toys can be made from them. Students here also learn how this soil is obtained from different parts and how toys are prepared from them. Also, this chapter deals with various types of statues or murtis such as Those Murti, Poli Murti, Ubhri Murti etc. It explains the process of statue making as well. 


Chapter 17: Maut Ka Pahad

This story is all about Hachiro and Chiro. Both of them were working in their fields and when they returned home, their mother welcomed them with a smile. There was a huge mountain in their village where sons used to leave their parents when they turned 70 years. Hachiro and Chiro didn’t want to leave their mother in any condition. One day, their mother told them she is not 70 years old and now is the time when they have to send her to that mountain. What happened next comprises the whole story. 


Chapter 18: Hum Honge Kamyab Ek Din

Written by the famous poet Girija Kumar Mathur, the poem Hum Honge Kamyab Ek Din gives motivation to everyone and encourages them to do work to become successful. According to the poet, self-confidence, hardship and passion are important to achieve goals. Moreover, this poem also explains the importance of teamwork.
