## What are Multiples?

### Multiples  Definition

The multiples of an entire number are found by taking the product for any counting number which integer. For example, to seek out the multiples of three, multiply 3 by 1, 3 by 2, 3 by 3, and so on. For finding the multiples of 5, we multiply 5 by 1, 5 by 2, 5 by 3, and so on and on. The multiples are the products of these multiplications. Some examples of multiples can be found below. In every given example, the counting numbers 1 through 8 is used. However, the list of multiples for an entire number is endless.

 Example 1 Find the Multiples of the Whole Number 4. Multiplication 4 x 1 4 x 2 4 x 3 4 x 4 4 x 5 4 x 6 4 x 7 4 x 8 Multiples of 4 4 8 12 16 20 24 28 32 Solution Multiples of four are as follows 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32,...

 Example 2 Find the Multiples of the Whole Number 5. Multiplication 5 x 1 5 x 2 5 x 3 5 x 4 5 x 5 5 x 6 5 x 7 5 x 8 Multiples of 5 5 10 15 20 25 30 35 40 Solution Multiples of five are as follows 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40,...

 Example 3 Find the Multiples of the Whole Number 7. Multiplication 7 x 1 7 x 2 7 x 3 7 x 4 7 x 5 7 x 6 7 x 7 7 x 8 Multiples of 7 7 14 21 28 35 42 49 56 Solution Multiples of seven are as follows 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56,...

Example:- 10, 20, 25, and 55 are multiples of 5 for the reasons given below:-

## Multiple of 5

 25 = 5 x 5 30 = 5 x 6 20 = 5 x 4 40 = 5 x 8

These values are called multiples as these values are obtained by adding or subtracting the original value repeatedly.

If we've to see that any number may be a multiple of 5 or not, then we'd like to divide that number by 5. Suppose there is any remainder left, then that number is not multiple.

## What is a Common Multiple?

A common multiple can be defined as a number that is a multiple of two or more numbers in a given set. Let us understand through an example.

Let us take two numbers 15 and 30.

Now the common multiples of 15 are 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 18 and the common multiples of 30 are 30, 60, 180, and 120,150,180

Here, we will see 30 and 60 are the primary two common multiples of 15 and 30.

## How to Find Multiple Using Divisions?

We know that both multiplication and division are the inverse operations. It implies both are linked with each other. We can find out using division whether a given number is multiple of another number or not.

Some of the examples are mentioned below

30÷ 5 = 6, so 30 can be divided evenly by 5 and it is also a multiple of 5. Since, 6 * 5= 30.

35 ÷ 5 = 7, so 35 can be divided by 5 and is also a multiple of 5. Since, 5 * 7= 35

Some of the multiples of 5 are

 5 10 15 20 25

All the numbers that can be easily divided by the number 5 or a product of 5 are considered as the multiple of 5. The multiple is additionally referred to as factors and it relies on their usage within the equation also.
