1. What is the National Defense Academy?
Created by the Indian Armed Forces in 1957 and modeled after the United States Military Academy at West Point, National Defense Academy India is among the most prestigious military academies in India. It aims to provide training and education to young officers of all three branches of India's Armed Forces: Army, Navy, and Air Force. National Defense Academy (NDA) provides training for defense personnel. It was founded on 25 November 1957 as a premier institution for military education; it has been an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Defense since 31 August 1990. The NDA was modeled after the United States Military Academy at West Point with its motto "Sarvatra" meaning "Everywhere".
2. How can I get into the Indian Defense Academy?
The selection process involves many rounds. First, the candidates have to attempt the NDA exam. It consists of two papers. One is a General knowledge paper and the other one is a math paper. Only 1 or two per cent of total candidates are selected in this process. They have to further go through many rounds of interviews and screening. The candidates have to give a speech, should have a proper interview with doctors and engineers, and should be examined for reaction. The final selection is based on the merit of the candidate in each process. So, the most important thing in this selection is to prepare well for each round. 3. How to apply for the NDA exam?
To get admission at NDA, the application form has to be filled in online. The candidate has to fill in his details and educational details correctly. For example, there is no age limitation or a minimum percentage required to take the exam but if a candidate applies for an age group that is not meant for him then his application will be rejected. 4. What is the format of the NDA exam paper?
NDA 2 2018 has two papers, one for general knowledge and the other for mathematical aptitude. The general knowledge paper consists of 150 questions whereas the mathematical paper consists of 120 questions. The question paper is divided into sections each of which consists of four subjects either English, General Knowledge, Arithmetic, or Mathematics. The questions are in a range of five marks in the NDA Math paper and 7 in the NDA question paper. The student has to answer questions from each section.
5. Is the NDA exam paper difficult?
It is not difficult, it will be easy for candidates who have good knowledge about different subjects. The main thing is preparation. The candidates should have a plan to tackle the exam and that too which will be beneficial for them because many students fail to prepare well for that particular exam and then they get average marks. If you prepare well, you will get a good score in the exam. The paper is more about logical reasoning and your general awareness.
