Below is the detailed analysis of the English question paper of NDA 1 2020.
Unlike the previous years, this year’s question paper consists of only five sections. In the previous years, NDA question papers used to have more sections namely Idioms & Phrases, Ordering of Sentences, Cloze Test and Comprehension. There was another new modification in one section which is Fill in the blanks section has been renamed as ‘Preposition’. The format remained the same as fill in the blanks but all the questions came from the “Appropriate Prepositions’ chapter of the English Grammar. It basically implements that those blanks are needed to be filled in with the appropriate prepositions.
The paper was quite easier so those who have practised well could easily achieve good marks. Besides ‘Preposition’ there were questions from other parts of English grammar such as vocabulary, tenses, appropriate prepositions, subject verb agreement, phrasal verbs. Apart from ‘Fill in the blanks’, there were also questions on usage of prepositions in a sentence.
As mentioned earlier, the question paper was very easy as there was a lesser number of topics. Those who have a strong base of English language and grammar would easily solve all the questions. From ‘Spotting Errors’ to ‘Antonym and Synonym’, all the sections require a very medium level knowledge. However, if someone missed practising the chapter ‘Appropriate prepositions’, then he would not be able to answer all the questions correctly.
So, the NDA 1 2020 English paper was easy to moderate level. Those who have planned and studied well and acquired a strong knowledge of English grammar and comprehension easily achieved the highest marks in this paper.
