The Dog at the Well Story: The Small Puppy

The small puppy wondered why his mother and father did not want him and his brothers to go near the well. The well is not far and does not seem to be scary. What is there? He wondered and wondered.

One day, the puppy brothers were playing. He asked the rest of them about the well. The other puppies replied, “We don’t know. We also don’t want to go near the well. Our father and mother have told us not to.” The small puppy laughed at his brothers and sisters. He said, “You all are cowards. I will go and see what happens in the well.”

The Small Puppy’s Disaster

In the Dog at the Well Story with pictures, he did not listen to his brothers and sisters. He slipped through the fence and ran towards the well. Everything seemed fine. The perimeter of the well was not high. He climbed on that well and looked down. Suddenly, he saw his image. He was young and did not know what reflections were. He started barking at his reflection in the water.

The echo in the well made his bark reflect back. He was angry and thought there was another puppy inside. He wanted to teach that puppy a lesson and jumped in the water. The puppy did not know how to swim. He struggled and struggled but all tries went in vain. When he was about to drown, he saw a white shadow jumping into the well. It was his father. The other puppies told everything to their parents.
