Horrid Henry Halloween Story In English For Kids

Once upon a time, there was a small family, who shifted into their new big house near a large pond. The family included Jim, Alice, and their kids Rick and Penny. The kids loved their house from the inside out. As soon they entered the house, they rushed into their respective rooms and were amazed to see the view through the window.

Rick said, " See Penny I can clearly see our garden through my room's window." Penny replied excitedly "Oh really Rick, even I can see the large pond through my window, I love this!" As the kids talked about their rooms, Jim came by and heard their conversation. Jim was very happy that his kids loved the house so much and said " I am delighted to see you both so happy with our new house."

The next day Alice advised Jim to build a swing in the garden for the kids. Jima agreed, and Penny and Rick were super excited about the new swing. In the evening both of them helped Jim in building the new swing. The same night Rick woke up from his sleep at midnight and heard a creaking voice from the garden. He went near the window and saw someone playing on the swing. Rick shouted, "Who is there, what are you doing?" Listening to Rick's voice, that unknown person ran away immediately.

The next morning when everyone gathered at the table for breakfast, Rick told his parents what happened last night. Although Kim and Alice didn't pay much attention to him and told him that it might be his dream. Rick tried to convince his parents again, but Alice told him that it must be air. By the evening everyone forgot about the swing incident.

The same day at night while Rick and Penny were laying in their rooms, Penny shouted "See rick someone's there." Rick ran to Penny's room and saw through the window. Although this time he saw no one outside. Penny insisted that she saw someone near the pond. The next day Penny told her parents about the pond incident during breakfast, but she was ignored too. Jim and Alice persuaded her that it must be her hallucination.

Many days passed away and the kids began to see lots of weird things, creatures, and shapes. Each time they complained to their parents, they were ignored. One fine day Penny noticed that 2 maths books were missing, she searched the whole house but couldn't find them. On the other hand, Rick had lost his favourite baseball bat. During the dinner, the kids told their parents about this and Jim replied "Oh honey you must have misplaced it." "Do you even trust us, why don't you believe what we are saying" shouted Penny and Rick. Just then a big utensil came flying toward the dining table, luckily no one was hurt. Jim and Alice finally understood that their kids were not lying.

"They were right all this time, there is some ghost spirit living in the house" Cried, Jim. "Yes, they were. We must find some way to know what this ghost wants." Alice replied. The family decided to interrogate the ghost and learn what he wants from them. At night all of them hid in Penny's room and waited for the ghost to come back and steal again. The plan went accordingly, the ghost came into the room and Jim asked him politely "Who are you and what is it that you want. We are good people and would like to help you." The ghost was very happy to hear this and began to introduce himself.

I am Henry, I used to live in this house before you. I was a very bright and intelligent student at school and I loved to do maths problems as it is my favourite subject. On my last day, I gave a maths test at school, and I am pretty sure that I scored the highest. Although my teacher still hasn't checked my paper, it's still in her locker. My only last wish is that my teacher would check my paper and it could make my mother proud by being the topper. The family felt very sorry and agreed to help him. The next day Jim and Alive went to Henry's school and asked his maths teacher to check Henry's paper. The teacher agreed and checked his paper, just like Henry said he scored the highest marks.

Now the only thing left was to show the paper to Henry's mother. So Jim went to the principal to enquire about Henry's house and address. On getting the address from the principal they rushed to Henry's mother and showed her the answer sheet. Henry's mother was very happy and cried out big tears. "Is my little Henry doing well?" asked the mother in tears. Jim told her about everything and assured her that Henry was good. Just then Henry appeared in the room out of nowhere and said: "Dear mom, all I wanted was to make you proud, see I scored the highest in the class." Mother replied " Oh Henry I am and will always be proud of you. You are my dear child." On hearing this, Henry's only wish was fulfilled. He thanked Jim for the help and bid farewell to his mother. In no time Henry disappeared into thin bright light and never came back. Jim and his family now lived in the house peacefully and no ghost ever disturbed them again.
