Hint: In this question, we have to find the present age of Mohit’s son so let the age of Mohit’s son be $x$, find the mohit’s age in terms of $x$ and after 2 years compare it with his son's age.
Complete step-by-step answer:
According to the question two years ago, Mohit is three times as old as his son.
So, let the age of Mohit’s son $ = $$x$
Now, $2$ years ago
Mohit’s son age $ = x - 2$
Mohit age at that time $ = 3(x - 2)$
Now , the present age of Mohit will be $ \Rightarrow $$3(x - 2) + 2 = 3x - 6 + 2 = 3x - 4$
Now, $2$ years hence
Mohit’s age $ = (3x - 4) + 2$
$2$ years hence son’s age $ = x + 2$
Now , according to the question i.e. twice of Mohit’s age will be equal to five times that of his son
$
\Rightarrow 5(x + 2) = 2(3x - 2) \\
\Rightarrow x = 14 \\
$
Hence the present age of Mohit’s son is $14years$.
Note: In such types of questions of ratio, whatever we have to find just let that be $x$ and move ahead with the statement step by step that is given in the question.
