In a computer lab, there are 3 computers for every 6 students. How many computers will be needed for 24 students?

Hint: We can solve this by applying Unitary method. Firstly, we will have to find the number of students for each computer which can be found by dividing total number of students by total no. of computers & then calculate no. of computers required for 24 students. In the question it is given that 3 computers are there for 6 students. The logic here is, each computer is shared by 2 students. So simply we need to calculate the number of computers which can be shared by 24 students.

To find: no. of computers needed for 24 students.
So, by applying Unitary method, [In unitary method we find the number of computers needed for each student]
We know from the question that; 6 students were given - $3$ computers
$1$ student was given - $\dfrac{3}{6}$ computer
Then, $24$ students were given - $\dfrac{3}{6}$$\times24$ computers
So the number of computers required for 24 students $= 3 X 4 = 12$

$\therefore $ In that computer lab, 12 computers will be needed for 24 students.
