Hint: Since we have been given two variables in the question, if we put both these variables in an equation it will be a linear equation in two variables. The equation will be linear because both the variables have degree one at the most.

Complete step-by-step answer:
 A linear equation can be solved in a lot of ways. Some of the ways by which we can solve a linear equation is by transposition which means moving the terms from left hand side of the equation to the right hand side and vice versa or by the method of adding, multiplying, subtracting and dividing on both the side of the equation with the same number.
Therefore we have been given that a rabbit covers a distance of ‘y’ meters therefore it is the total distance it covers. Now he covers 10 meters out of y meters by walking in slow motion. Therefore the remaining distance is represented by:
 $ \Rightarrow (y - 10)\;m $
Further the rabbit covers the remaining distance by jumping where each jump is of 2 meters and he makes total ‘x’ jumps, therefore the distance he covers while jumping is:
 $
  \Rightarrow 2 \times x \\
   \Rightarrow 2x \;
 $
Hence the equation is of the form given below because the remaining distance is covered by jumping:
  $ \Rightarrow y - 10 = 2x $
It can be rearranged as
 $ \Rightarrow y = 10 + 2x $
Signifying the distance y meters to be covered by 10 meters of walking and x jumps of 2 meters each.
So, the correct answer is “y = 10 + 2x”.

Note: A linear equation can be represented by one of both or two variables, it can be easily understood by the number line as well,
