Tamil Nadu MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2020
It is important that students who are aspiring to get a medical seat in the Tamil Nadu MBBS admission 2020, need to know the basic eligibility criteria. Here is a list of few basic eligibility criteria that need to be fulfilled by those looking out for admission in the year 2020
Students who are looking out for admission must have completed a minimum age of 17 years as of December 31 2020. The students must not be older than 25 years of age. However, an age relaxation of 5 years is given to SC/ST/OBC applicants.
It is necessary that students opting for medicine need to have completed their class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as the main subject.
The unreserved category applicants must have secured at least 50% of marks when Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology and English are taken together. However, the students belonging to the reserved category, as well as the PH candidates must secure 40% and 45% respectively.
Another important point is that the candidates must be a domicile of Tamil Nadu. The domicile candidates who have completed their class 6 to class 12 in the state of Tamil Nadu, need to submit their nativity certificate. However, they need to produce their parent’s certificate such as the Birth Certificate, Ration Card, SSLC/10/12 degree certificate. In case the parents are not graduate, then a No Graduation Certificate from revenue authority must be obtained and furnished.
Students who belong to other states but are living in Tamil Nadu will not be considered domicile. Instead, they will be granted seats under the open category.
Along with them, the students who do not belong to the state of Tamil Nadu but have studied there, from Class 6 to Class 12 in the state, can claim a seat under the open category.
Students who belong to the state of Tamil Nadu but have studied partially or completely outside the state of Tamil Nadu need to provide original copies of their parent’s certificates as mentioned above or No Graduation Certificate from revenue authority.
