Quota Allocated for NEET IPU

During NEET MBBS counselling 2020, seats will be allocated depending on State-wise and All India Quota. The counselling committee of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University will release the State-wise quota seats, while the All India Quota seats will be allocated by the Medical Counselling Committee. 

According to the existing guidelines, State-wise quota accounts for 85% of the available seats while AIQ seats account for the rest 15%.

In case two or more students obtain the same scores, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has implemented a tie-breaker system that selects a particular candidate based on their merit.

Tie-Breaking Methods



Tie-Breaker 1 

Candidates who have scored higher marks in Biology (Class 12) will earn higher ranks in State-wise merit list.

Tie-Breaker 2

If the situation still persists, students with higher marks in Chemistry (Class 12 or equivalent) will be ranked higher.

Tie-Breaker 3 

If the situation still persists, students with fewer wrong attempts will be given preference.

Tie-Breaker 4

If the situation still persists, students who are older in age will be preferred.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University will conduct counselling sessions for shortlisted students. It will be conducted over multiple rounds, the first of which is scheduled for June 2020. However, dates may change because of the ongoing pandemic.

There are certain guidelines present regarding the schools as well. 

  1. Applicants are only eligible to apply if their school is situated within the National Capital Region of Delhi.

  2. The school has to be a recognised body by the Council of Indian School Certificate, and Jamia Millia Islamia.

  3. The school must have regular classes.

  4. Applicants must attend regular classes in the school during Class 11 and 12.
