IPU NEET Opening and Closing Ranks 2024

The latest cut-off for IPU NEET 2024 is yet to be announced, which means that we can only bank on the cut-offs observed from the previous years’ examination results. The different colleges that you can get into after clearing NEET have different cut-offs after the examination.

Factors Affecting IPU NEET Cut-Off 2024

Here are the factors affecting the NEET cutoff score for IPU (Indraprastha University) in 2024:

  • Number of NEET Test Takers: More students taking NEET can lead to a higher cutoff score at IPU.

    • This includes both the total number appearing for NEET UG and those registered for IPU MBBS/BDS programs.

  • Difficulty Level of NEET UG Exam: A tougher exam might result in a lower cutoff score at IPU, as scoring high becomes more challenging overall.

  • NEET Results 2024 (Overall Performance): The distribution of scores nationally can influence the IPU cutoff. Higher national scores might raise the IPU cutoff.

  • Reservation Requirements: Reservation policies for various categories can affect the cutoff score needed for each category.

  • Seat Matrix: The total number of MBBS and BDS seats available at IPU in 2024 plays a role. More seats generally lead to a lower cutoff score.

IPU NEET Cut Off 2024 Tie-breaking Process

If two or more students obtain the same scores, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has implemented a tie-breaker system that selects a particular candidate based on merit.

  1. Priority is given to the candidate with higher marks in Biology (combined score of Botany and Zoology).

  2. If a tie persists after Biology, marks in Chemistry are compared.

  3. Physics Marks (New for 2024): This year, NEET 2024 tie-breaking considers Physics marks next. Previously, it wasn't included in the initial steps.

  4. Less Incorrect Answers (If the tie remains): If the tie persists after comparing scores in all three subjects, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers in the entire NEET exam is ranked higher.

  5. Less Incorrect Answers in Biology (If the tie remains): If the tie continues, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers, specifically in Biology, is ranked higher.

  6. Less Incorrect Answers in Chemistry (If the tie remains): If the tie persists after Biology and overall incorrect answers, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers in Chemistry is ranked higher.

  7. 7. Random Selection (If the tie persists): If none of the above criteria break the tie, a computer-generated random selection process is used for final ranking. This ensures complete fairness with no human intervention.
