Chandigarh MBBS Counselling 2020


Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) will conduct the counselling session for eligible candidates. There will be 2 rounds of counselling which will be held in offline mode. The authorities will conduct a mop-up round too if the seats still remain vacant. The counselling of Chandigarh MBBS 2020 will be conducted for only those candidates who have been shortlisted and have names in the final merit list. The counselling board will conduct three rounds of counselling process to shortlist the students for admissions into the universities.

Chandigarh MBBS Counselling Procedure

  1. Candidates have to be physically present at the counselling centre.

  2. Candidates will have to come with all required documents. 

  3. After the verification process is done, the seat allotment result will be announced by the authorities.

  4. If the applicant has once received the seat, he/she shall not be allowed to take part in other counselling rounds.

  5. Candidates who are eligible but did not take part in the first round of counselling can take part in the second round of counselling.

  6. The admission will be given based on the merit list and scores obtained in NEET 2020

Chandigarh MBBS Counselling Process

Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) will conduct the counselling process for candidates. Counselling will be held in 2 rounds and if seats still remain vacant there will be a Mop-Up round too. The counselling session will be conducted via offline mode. The counselling will be conducted based on the category wise merit list of shortlisted candidates. Candidates will also be required to bring a few documents for the verification process. The documents should be original along with self-attested copies.

NEET Merit List

NEET merit list consists of names of the candidates who are qualified for the counselling process. The names of the candidates are provided in the order of the ranks they have achieved. On the whole, there are three types of merit lists: 

  • All India Merit List

  • AIQ Merit List

  • State Merit List

There is a high chance of getting the same score among the candidates. In this case, the rank is decided based on the following criteria: 

  • The student who secured highest marks in Biology.

  • The candidate who scored higher marks in Chemistry. 

  • The candidate who has procured less negative marks.

  • An applicant who is older.
