The Brave Boy Who Saved His Brother

Introduction

This is a beautiful story of a young boy named Veer Singh. His younger brother was very ill. No one was there to help. He carried his brother on his back and crossed jungles and rivers to reach a hospital. Why did he do so? What was his brother suffering from? Did he meet any danger on the way? Read this interesting story and find out.

The Story of a Little Brave Boy

Veer Singh lived in a village near a jungle. He was 11 years old. He had a young brother who was 8 years old. His father, Veer Bahadur Singh, was an avid hunter with battle marks on his entire body. He saved many from tiger attacks and survived many of them.

One day, he was out there tracking down a notorious tiger. Veer Singh’s younger brother was suffering from excruciating pain in the stomach. Veer has already lost a few brothers and sisters to cholera.

The Younger Brother is Sick

The Younger Brother is Sick

It was raining heavily and his father was nowhere to be found. His father is somewhere deep in the jungle. It will take a few days to track him down.

Veer’s mother was crying. Realising there is no way out; Veer decided to take her brother to the hospital alone. It was 50 miles away from his house. The sun sets in the jungle faster. Despite such adverse conditions, Veer decided to take his destiny into his own hands.

Veer’s Journey of Bravery

In this Small Story of Brave Child, Veer’s mother cannot leave the house as the cattle will starve. She made a sling to hold Veer’s brother at his back. She packed food and anxiously saw Veer disappearing in the woods.

Veer crossed the small jungle and went deeper into the bigger one ahead. His brother was shivering and crying with pain and fever.

Veer did not lose hope. He knew the route would make him cross two raging mountain rivers in this rain. He reached the first one but to his surprise, a herd of elephants was there.

He took shelter under a tree, all drenched in rain. He did not make a sound. The elephants passed after a few hours.

He then crossed the river on a bouncing temporary bamboo bridge. He then proceeded through the jungle.

Suddenly, he spotted and tracked the fresh footprints of a tiger. He was nervous. He cannot even climb a tree or run with his ill brother. He mustered courage and kept on moving.

The Second River

The second river has destroyed the bridge villagers made. The raging river is ready to blow everything away in its path.

He had no choice but to tie two bamboo poles on his feet. He held his brother high in his arms and walked through the river.

Only a few miles were left. He kept walking slowly as his muscles were all cramped. He heard his brother moaning with pain. It made him more determined.

Suddenly, he saw a few people. Seeing them, he collapsed and lost consciousness.

The New Veer Bahadur Singh

When he woke up, he found himself on a bed. The doctor said, “Veer Bahadur Singh?” Veer replied, “My father is not here.”

The doctor said, “You are the new Veer Bahadur Singh who saved his younger brother.”
