Complete answer: The Sambhar Salt Lake of Rajasthan is located 80km southwest of the city of Jaipur and 64km northeast of Ajmer. A town grew up surrounding the Sambhar salt lake and was named as the Sambhar Lake Town. The lake has a catchment area of 5700 square km. The lake is an extensive saline wetland. The lake is elliptical in shape with an approximate length of 35.5 km and a breath varying between 3km and 11 km. The circumference of the lake is 96km, and the lake is surrounded by the Aravali Hills on all sides.
