This state is bounded by Nagaland and Manipur in the east, Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh in the North, West Bengal in the west, Tripura, Mizoram and Bangladesh to the south. The official language is Assamese. Bengali is also spoken which became official in some places like Barak valley and Bodo. This state is well known for its sea and silk.
