Hint- As we know that the concept of hydraulic press is based on the Pascal law. This law states that when the pressure is applied to the fluid enclosed in a container, the pressure throughout the container remains constant. Alternatively we can say that a hydraulic press is a machine which uses the pressure exerted on the fluids to crush something.
So because hydraulic press works on the basis of the law of Pascal, its function is identical to that of the hydraulic system. The hydraulic press consists of basic parts used in the hydraulic system, including valves, pistons, hydraulic pipes, etc.
Step-By-step answer:
The hydraulic press working is very simple. The device consists of two cylinders; the fluid (usually oil) is pumped into a container with a small diameter. The cylinder is known as the slave cylinder.
The piston of this cylinder is pushed in such a manner that it compresses the fluid that flows through the pipe into the wider cylinder. The bigger cylinder is referred to as the main cylinder. Pressure is applied to the larger cylinder, and the piston in the master cylinder forces the fluid back to the original cylinder.
The force applied to the fluids by the smaller cylinder results in a larger force when pushed in the master cylinder.
Hence the correct option is “C”.
Note- Hydraulic press is used for almost all industrial purposes. We can use the hydraulic press in the industries to compress the large metal objects into sheets. The other uses of the hydraulic press can be in cosmetic industries for making powders and in medical industries for making tablets.
