(1) A force has the ability to lift a fixed target. For instance, the force of a motor causes a stationary fan to turn ( rotate).
(2) A force may cause a moving object to change its speed.For instance, when a hockey player collides with a bouncing puck, the ball's momentum increases.
(3) A force may bring a moving object to a halt.For instance, brakes, for example, may bring a running vehicle to a complete halt.
(4) A force may cause a moving object to change its direction. For instance, when a running cricket ball is struck by a bat in a cricket match, the trajectory of the cricket ball varies.
(5) An object's shape may be altered by a force. Example: As you apply force to flour dough, it changes shape.

Note: Newton's second law states that the net force acting on an object is proportional to the rate at which its momentum varies over time in its original form. This law states that the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on the object, is in the direction of the net force, which is inversely proportional to the mass of the object if the mass of the object is constant.
