Hint: Sardar Sarovar Dam is located in Gujarat and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2017. It has an installed capacity of 1450 MW which is equal to 1 Billion kWh every year.

Complete Answer: The foundation stone of the Sardar Sarovar Dam was laid out by our former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on 5th April 1961. The construction began in April 1987 and was finally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 17th September 2017.

Now let us examine the options
Option A - The Ukai Dam is constructed across the Tapi river situated in Gujarat is the second-largest reservoir right after the Sardar Sarovar. A earth-cum-masonry dam with a length of 4927 metres was constructed in 1972 for flood control, power generation and irrigation purposes.
Option B - The Sardar Sarovar dam was built across the Narmada river as a development scheme funded by the World Bank. The Sardar Sarovar Dam is considered to be the second-largest concrete dam in the world in terms of the volume of concrete used in this project.
Option C - The Srisailam and the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam are the two dams which are constructed across the river Krishna.
Option D - Several dams have been constructed across the Kaveri river, of which Krishna Raja Sagar Dam is the popular one.

Thus the correct answer is option (B).

Note: This project was funded by the World Bank through their International Bank for Reconstruction and Development as a development scheme to increase irrigation and also the production of hydroelectricity. Later on, the World Bank withdrew its funding in 1993 amidst immense protest by a group of local people.
