The Magna Carta is also called Magna Carta Libertatum. The purpose of the Magna Carta was to follow a “ peace treaty”. It was originally published in the Latin language. It was a written document of rights that was agreed by the king John of England on 15th June 1215. The document was first drafted by Archbishop of Canterbury Stephen Langton. To maintain peace between the unpopular King and a group of rebels of the baron, he drafted the document.
