Hint: The Second World War was a global war between Allied and Axis powers in which Germany, Japan and Italy were the Axis powers and France, Great Britain, United States and the Soviet Union were the Allied powers.

It began with the invasion of Poland by Germany and subsequent declarations of war on Germany by France and Britain.
