The fibres thus obtained are then converted into fabric by the process of yarn and spinning. The fabric thus obtained is used for clothing. Terylene is the polymer formed by the reaction of ethylene glycol and terephthalic acids.
Properties of terylene:
(i) It is a very strong fibre and thus resists the loss of strength when wet.
(ii) It shows elastic nature.
(iii) Terylene can be washed easily and dried quickly.
These properties help to make terylene a good synthetic fibre. It is used to make clothes and plastic bottles.
