Hint: Dieback is a disease that is seen in many small plans and even some shrubs, it is marked by the death of the plants which starts from the leaf tip or root tip and are bacterial or fungal infections.

Complete answer: Dieback is generally a condition found in which a small tree or shrubs might begin to die from the tip of their leaves or even of the roots and these can be brought about by numerous fungi and few bacteria like cankers, wilts or root rots, etc or also due to major climate changes or by unexpected conditions like acid rains and drought.
An element that is responsible for the normal growth of these parts is calcium and the deficiency of it in most instances and it leads to plants succumbing to die-backs.
Calcium is an essential mineral element in the case of plants and it’s deficiency leads to such a disease.

Additional information: "Dieback" denotes the progressive death of twigs and branches which generally starts at the tips. Trees and shrubs affected by the decline and dieback syndrome may die within a year or two after symptoms first appear or in some cases live indefinitely.
