When the winter season occurs in the northern hemisphere, then it is summer in the southern hemisphere but if it is summer in the northern hemisphere, then it is winter in the southern hemisphere. The season can also be related to the snowfall and the low temperatures. The winter solstice is also called the Heibel solstice or hibernal solstice. It takes place twice in a year in both the hemisphere. On the winter solstice, the shortest day and longest night take place. The tilt of the axis of the earth causes the winter season. This season demands a fully covered body packed with shawls and sweaters. The northern area of the country mostly enjoys this season. Such areas include Manali, Shimla, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and many others. The season also leads to some health effects such as hypothermia, snow blindness, norovirus, and seasonal depression.
