Option A, Khairlanji Case is also known as the Khairlanji Massacre took place on 29th September 2006 in which four people from the Bhotmange family of Scheduled Caste were killed in a village named Khairlanji, Bhandara district in the state of Maharashtra. The family owned five acres of land out of which two were being used for the construction of road and the rest three were again demanded for the construction purpose by the upper castes to which they refused to give. On this, the upper castes took a severe revenge from the family killing all the members. On 14th July the High Court reduced the penalty of death to a 25-year imprisonment and earlier they were awarded to death sentence. So, it is the appropriate answer.
Option B, Bhopal Gas Leak Case took place on the night of 2-3 December 1984 at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It is considered to be one of the world’s worst industrial disasters killing around 5,00,000 people due to the exposure of Methyl Isocyanate Gas. So, it is not the relevant answer.
