Hint: To find the solution we have to simply multiply the profit and loss of selling 1 bag of cement with the total number of quantities and then we have to subtract total loss from the total profit in order to get the solution.

We are given that a cement company earns a profit of Rs. 8 per bag of white cement sold.
Now, the company sells 3,000 bags of white cement in a month.
So,
Total earn by company is, 3000$$\times$$8=Rs 24,000
Now, we are also given a cement company loss of Rs. 5 per bag of grey cement sold.
And the company sells 5000 bags of grey cement in a month.
So, Total Loss by company is, 5000 $$\times$$5=Rs 25,000
Now, Profit - Loss = 24000 - 25000 = -1000 < 0.
So the result is less than zero.
Therefore we can say that the losing part is greater than the earning part.

So company having loss and the loss is Rs 1000 per month.

Note: While solving this type of question you need to know that if the subtraction of profit and loss,i.e, (Profit - Loss) is greater than zero then the company gets profited and if it is less than zero that the company face loss and the amount of profit or loss is equal to the resultant of the subtraction.
