The registration deadline for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2024) is fast approaching, closing on November 30th, 2023. The National Testing Agency (NTA) manages the application process through the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. With a reduced syllabus, the path to success is clearer than ever.
To be eligible for JEE Main 2024, candidates must have achieved at least 75% marks in their Class 12 examination or be among the top 20 percentile in any recognized board. For SC and ST category candidates, the minimum required marks are 65%.
JEE Main 2024 will be conducted in two sessions:
Session 1: January 24 to February 1, 2024
Session 2: April 1 to April 15, 2024
In a significant move, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has streamlined the syllabus for JEE Main 2024, excluding specific topics from the chemistry, physics, and mathematics sections. This decision aims to align the JEE Main syllabus with the latest NCERT curriculum and ease the burden on students preparing for the engineering entrance exam.
Chemistry: Topics such as physical quantities and their measurements, precision and accuracy, states of matter, atomic models, surface chemistry, polymers, chemistry in everyday life, and general principles and processes of isolation of metals have been omitted from the chemistry section.
Physics: Communication systems and certain experimental skills have been excluded from the physics section, allowing students to focus on core concepts.
Mathematics: Mathematical inductions, mathematical reasoning, and some aspects of three-dimensional geometry have been removed from the mathematics section.
