The Overview of Chapter 3 of Class 6 Hindi “Naadaan Dost”
The story is written by the author Premchand. The story is based on a brother and sister. In this story, the author has mentioned the ignorance of the brother and sister named Keshav and Shyama. Keshav and Shyama are two siblings. The bird had laid eggs on the cornice of their house. Both the brother and sister used to see the bird coming to teh cornice everyday. Both used to be so engrossed in seeing them that they even forgot their food and drink. Seeing the bird's eggs, many questions arose in his mind like when the children would grow up, what colour would they be, how would the children come out. They take various measures to protect bird eggs, litter buckets for shade and soft cloth cushions under the eggs.
The bird breaks its eggs on its own. When the mother of the children comes to know about this, she tells them that by tampering with the bird's eggs, she does not incubate them again but breaks them. Hearing this, both of them feel very sorry. But it is too late. They both do a good job of protecting the eggs. But due to a lack of knowledge and experience, they become the cause of their ruin.
That is why Premchand has called both of them “Nadan Dost”. This story teaches us that before doing any work, make sure that what you are doing is right or not. Whatever Keshav and Shyama had done for the bird babies, if they had asked their parents once, they might have seen those bird babies in front of them.
